This access simplifies the integration of Oracle's industry leading Internet Procurement solution with customers' existing back-end financial systems.

"Ease of integration is based on open standards," said Ron Wohl, executive vice president, Oracle Applications. "Our XML integration is based on Open Applications Group (OAGI) standards, one of the leading standards today."

It allows customers to more easily integrate their existing financial systems with Oracle Internet Procurement 11i, giving them the opportunity to reduce their corporate purchasing costs by up to 20 percent."

The XML access in Oracle Internet Procurement 11i gives a company the ability to centrally deploy Oracle Internet Procurement to service multiple ERP applications and multiple instances if necessary, allowing users to enjoy advanced catalog search and self service requisitioning capabilities that are seamlessly integrated with their current business processes.

Contract enforcement can be implemented across the company's operating units
to achieve global cost reductions.

The open messaging architecture uses the Internet messaging standard -- Java Messaging Service (JMS) to provide maximum integration with multiple applications, and synchronizes master file data, purchasing transactions, and supports requisitioning, supplier sourcing, receiving and settlement. Oracle's proven technology assures message integrity by using the Advanced Queuing (AQ) feature of Oracle 8i. It also provides message publishing, subscription and monitoring via Oracle Workflow.
