NEWS FROM OAGI  - Quarterly Newsletter, December 2003

OAGi is elected to International De Jure Standards MoU Management Group (MoU MG)

The Open Applications Group was elected in PARIS this week to become part of a very elite group in the standards world.  Your organization has joined the four international de jure standards organizations in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on electronic business.   The Open Applications Group will participate in implementation of the MoU as a registered international user group.  We will give more details in a separate announcement shortly.

The MoU establishes a cooperative coordination mechanism to produce mutually supportive data interchange and interoperability standards for business transactions as well as product design and manufacturing to meet industry and user needs. It aims to minimize the risk of divergent and competitive approaches to standardization and avoid duplication of efforts and confusion among end users.  For More Information on the MoU, go to their web site: http://www.itu.int/ITU-T/e-business/mou/index.html
