Leading Applications Companies Commit to Open Applications GroupNew delivery commitments from largest applications companies make open applications integration a realityChicago, Illinois, USA -- February 24, 1997 Today the Open Applications Group, Inc. announced that the leading suppliers of enterprise applications are publicly committed to specific delivery dates for compliance with the latest releases of the Open Applications Group’s specifications for application interoperability. American Software, CODA, JD Edwards, IBM Manufacturing Solutions Unit, Marcam Solutions, NEC C&C Systems Group, Oracle, PeopleSoft, QAD, SAP, and TSW have announced delivery dates for the specifications called Open Applications Group Integration Specification (OAGIS). OAGIS release 3 was approved and published in September, 1996. It provides a robust specification for the integration of financial applications to human resources, distribution/logistics, and production applications. OAGIS Release 4, which was approved and published in November, 1996, provides additional functionality for credit checking, project accounting, and time and attendance collection. The Open Applications Group anticipates that its members will be making delivery commitments to Release 4 in the coming months in conformance with the Open Applications Group’s model of providing delivery commitments after publication. OAGIS Release 5, scheduled for approval and publication in the first half of 1997, will be the culmination of the Open Applications Group’s accelerated specification delivery process, providing comprehensive functionality for the integration of Financial, Human Resources, Distribution/Logistics, and Production applications.
